Dianella - A truly great place to work!

At Dianella Community Health we share a vision of Health, Wellbeing and Quality of life, in a community which is empowered, has opportunities, is caring and works together.

We are very lucky at Dianella. Over the last 35 years we have attracted great people; and many have stayed with us for the long haul. The thing is, if you have great people, who truly enjoy their work, then you also have a great place to work.

Now it's official. Best Practice Australia (BPA) an independent company, conducts surveys of health agencies across Australia and internationally.
 

BPA has benchmarked how our people feel about working here compared to over 600 Health and Welfare agencies across Australia. The latest BPA survey had a tremendous response rate of 84% and demonstrated that Dianella is an employer of choice. It shows why we attract excellent people to work with us - and more importantly - why we keep them.

  • A massive 81% of our people answered yes to the question "Is Dianella a truly great place to work" compared to an average in the health sector of just 50%. Overwhelmingly, staff nominated the excellent working relationships they have with their colleagues as the single most important thing making Dianella a great place to work. 
  • 56% of staff are highly engaged and only 6% are disengaged compared to public healthcare where only 28% are highly engaged and 26% are disengaged. 
  • Of the 81 attributes that were surveyed our staff said that we have improved in a massive 37 areas since the last survey and no area of the organisation has got worse. In all 81 areas, Dianella rated equal to, or above average compared to similar surveys in other health organisations. 
  • We value the opinions of people. 88% of our staff felt safe discussing their problems with their manager (compared to an average of 67% in other health organisations) and 84% of our staff felt that their ideas were valued (compared to an average of 56%). 
  • 87% of people surveyed said that they believed Dianella has a "friendly work environment" compared to an average in other health organisations of 64%. 
  • People are proud of the valuable work they do at Dianella. 89% of our staff would recommend Dianella as a good place to work to their family and friends.

Dianella Community Health employs over 200 staff providing a wide range of Clinical & Social Health services from 9 sites located in Northern Melbourne just 25 minutes from the City. We also have over 100 voluntary staff including Board members, volunteer bus drivers, volunteer cooks and contributors to our numerous community health promotion programs and events.
